13 May, 2024

On May 10th, Dr. Cristiana Seganti held a seminar presentation to first-year students enrolled in the Quality and Procurement of Raw Materials for Agri-Food of the University of Parma, in Salsomaggiore Terme (PR) at Palazzo Tommasini.

The professionally oriented degree course aims to train graduates in the Food sector with a strong professional orientation, experts in the evaluation, selection and purchase of raw materials for industry, catering and large-scale retail trade, able to guide the choices of the actors in the food supply chain towards products suitable for use/processing.

Dr. Cristiana Seganti is a biologist and a marketing expert, with experience ranging from the pharmaceutical industry to business management and beer production. The seminar covered topics related to the history of the oldest human-produced drink, Beer, and how its production and societal role have changed over time. The seminar ended with a practical session in which students had the opportunity to compare three beers available in the market based on differences in the production process.

The seminar has been very useful for the students who will become professional figures in the food sector and represent the link between producers (agricultural sector) and other stakeholders in the supply chain, including consumers.
