This week, the Italian network of PhD students from Food Science gathered at Uni-Astiss Polo Universitario Asti Studi Superiori "Rita Levi Montalcini", for the 26th Workshop on the Developments in the Italian PhD Research on Food Science Technology and Biotechnology.
During the event, PhD students from different years had the chance to present their results, ideas, and upcoming projects through several poster sessions and oral communications. This Workshop foresees the presentation of many different topics related to Food Science, from microbial characterization, nutraceuticals, and food analysis to targeted interventions to promote nutrition and sustainability aspects. As regards the latter theme, PhD students from the Department of Food and Drug of the University of Parma had the opportunity to share their work during the event. Cinzia Franchini – a 3rd-year PhD candidate – presented her results during the oral session “Promotion of nutrition knowledge and sustainability of dietary behaviors in different student populations”. In addition, Giulia Andreani – from the 1st year – introduced her upcoming work through a poster titled "Using consumer science to improve healthy and sustainable eating behavior".
