I would like to share with you some very interesting events just around the corner.

Considering the crucial relationship between science and policy, on 26 September the European Commission organizes the EU4FACTS: Evidence for policy in a post-fact world conference with the aim to produce a set of clear recommendations for successful evidence-informed policy making.

The Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Piacenza campus) opens a public competition announcement for admission of 16 positions at the PhD Programme in Agri-Food System. Potential candidates who intend to participate in the competition must submit an application by Monday, September 11st, 2017. The application form is available online at http://dottorati.unicatt.it/concorsi-milano until 2 pm (local time) on the expiration date of the present public announcement.

I also invite all young researchers to participate in the Foods 2017 Travel Awards. These awards (of 800 Swiss Francs) will help support travel for the chosen junior investigator and PhD student to present their data, in poster or oral presentations, at a scientific conference to be held between November 2017 and October 2018. The requirements for candidate participation and application can be found at http://www.mdpi.com/journal/foods/awards and deadline is 30 August 2017.

Finally, do not forget also to participate in the XV EAAE (European Association of Agricultural Economists) Congress which will take place in Parma (Italy) on 29 August – 1 September, 2017. This event will bring together agricultural economists and other experts from agricultural and food industries from all around the world. Deadline for registering: August 4th!
