I would like to share with you some very interesting events just around the corner.

First, in order of time, the 11th Annual AAWE Conference 2017 in Padua (Italy) next June 28 – July 2. The conference is organized by the American Association of Wine Economists and hosted by the University of Padova (main local organizer Prof. Luca Rossetto). Another international conference on Wine sustainability will take place at the Faculty of Economics, University Gabriele D'Annunzio in Pescara (Italy), on 1-3 September. The conference is organized by a/simmetrie and the Department of Economics, Gabriele d’Annunzio University, Pescara (Italy) and INFER – International Network for Economic Research (Bonn). Among the keynote speakers: Prof. Karl Storchmann (New York University NYU, founding and managing editor of the Journal of Wine Economics) and Prof. Julian Alston (University of California, Davis). Deadline for paper submission is June 15th.

Next October 18-21 in Krems (Austria), my friend and colleague Dr. Albert Franz Stöck (IMC Krems University of Applied Sciences) is organizing the 3rd Culinary and Wine Tourism Conference (CWTC17) which will be held in the beautiful Wachau Danube Valley– UNESCO World Heritage. Regarding grant applications for students and young researchers from all over the world, I invite you to submit your research proposal about food and sustainability to the international competition BCFN YES! (Young Earth Solutions). Finally, the François Rabelais University (Tours, France) and the European Institute for the History and Cultures of Food, (IEHCA) are pleased to announce the fifteenth Summer School next 28 August to 3 September 2017. Among the topic addressed: Archaeology of food production and consumption, Drink in Early Modern England, Food addiction, Depicting food and cuisine in early modern Europe.
