I would like to share with you some very interesting events just around the corner.

First of all, the EFSA conference 2018 will take place in Parma, Italy, from 18 to 21 September. It will reflect on the future of risk assessment in food safety while acknowledging the social and political context within which it operates. Researchers, risk assessors, social scientists, risk managers and stakeholders from all over the world will gather to discuss issues around the complex interplay between science, food, and society. The call for poster abstracts is now open. Participants have until 2 April 2018 to apply.

The Italian Sensory Science Society (SISS) and the European Sensory Science Society (E3S) have the great pleasure to invite you to the 8th European Conference on Sensory and Consumer Research 'A Sense of Taste'Topics to be covered will include the contribution of sensory science as a multidisciplinary perspective applied to specific issues of general interest (Health, Innovation, Sustainability, Eating out, Individual differences) and input and contributions from other fields and disciplines to the methodological refinement of the sensory science (Genetics, Mind science, Text analysis, New technologies, Statistics, Advanced instrumental analysis). Abstract submission deadline: 12 March 2018

 

 

Next June 13-14, in Bournemouth, UK there will be the International Food Marketing Research Symposium 2018. The Institute of Food Products Marketing conferences welcomes multidisciplinary research from quantitative and qualitative methodologies, consumer behavior and management perspectives, and the study of the entire food marketing process. Submission of abstracts and papers and registration deadlines are open until April 30th.

The University of Milan Dept. of Health, Animal Science and Food Safety is organizing the International Spring School in Economic Psychology Discrete Choice Experiments and Psychometrics: Theory, Methods and Applications. The School will be held in Milan from May, 7-11 and is open to young researchers and PhD students from both economics and psychology. The instructors, Vicenzina Caputo (Michigan State University), Marco Perugini, and Juliette Richetin (University of Milan Bicocca), will cover the main theoretical and empirical foundations behind Choice Experiment application. The deadline for discounted applications is March 10th.

Finally, Guest Editor Dr. Julie Bower invites contributors for a Special Issue on “Marketing and Management of Wine and Consumer Choice” (Beverages — Open Access Journal). This Issue will showcase research that illuminates the challenges and opportunities faced by the wine industry in seeking to regain and broaden its position in the global alcoholic beverages market. Deadline for manuscript submissions is 16 October 2018.
