Dear colleagues,

I would like to share with you some very interesting events just around the corner.

The XVI Congress of the European Association of Agricultural Economists, EAAE will take place from 20-23 July 2021 in a format that will be decided later in the Spring of 2021 in view of the Covid-19 situation. The Local Organising Committee and the Programme Committee are striving to arrange a stimulating and innovative programme consisting of invited plenary presentations, invited panels, organised sessions, organised panels, contributed papers and posters as well as field trips. The Congress aims to stimulate interaction among a broad range of stakeholders of the food chain. In particular, policy makers, societal stakeholders and agribusiness representatives shall contribute to the programme through organised panels which have an open format and do not require a scientific paper. The deadline for Organised Panels and Session is February 15, and for Posters is March 1, 2021.

The 10th AIEAA Conference will be held virtually, 9-11 June 2021 "Agriculture, food and global value chains: Issues, methods and challenges". The Conference aims to contribute to this debate, by putting together different disciplines and approaches to the analysis of agri-food GVCs, of their implications in terms of economic, social and environmental sustainability and of their prospects in the post COVID-19 era. AIEAA welcomes the submission of contributions on the topics above. However, the submission of contributions on other agricultural and applied economics topics is also encouraged.

Finally, Guest Editors Dr. Oriana Gava from the Council for Agricultural Research and Agricultural Economics Analysis in Rome and Dr. Giovanna Sacchi from the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano invite researchers to contribute to the Special Issue "Addressing the Food–Health–Environmental Nexus for Agri-Food System Sustainability". Researchers are called to contribute to the existing knowledge about the food–health–environment nexus, to support the development of solutions to address the environmental and health impacts of agri-food systems simultaneously, with practical implications for strategic decision making by policymakers and in the agribusiness. The purpose of this Special Issue is to offer insights into how different practices, systems, technologies, and approaches to food production and consumption can create positive synergies in the food–health–environment nexus, by boosting the positive externalities on the environment and human health, while mitigating the negative ones. Deadline for manuscript submissions: 30 April 2021.
