I would like to share with you some very interesting events just around the corner.
Next September 3-7, University of Milano-Bicocca, in collaboration with Chalmers University, will organizing a joint summer programme “TOWARDS A BIO-BASED ECONOMY: science, innovation, economics, education”. The main topic will be focused on bio-based economy which aims at reducing the dependence from fossil fuels and finite materials without overexploiting natural resources. Participants will be divided into small groups and will develop an own project taking into account all issues tackled during the course. Application deadline is May 31st, 2018. Please keep in mind that Fondazione Giannino Bassetti will award 2 fellowships to cover the course fees. The Journal of Natural Resources Research opens a call for papers for a “Special Issue on Forests, Agriculture and Environmental Protection”. Quantitative studies from all aspects of forest, agriculture and environment sustainable management are encouraged to contribute to this Special Issue in order to promote knowledge and sustainable strategies for the preservation and management of natural resources in agroforestry systems. This July 2 - 4 in Ancona, Italy, it will be held the WICaNeM 2018 - 13th Wageningen International Conference on Chain and Network Management. In June 19-21, 2018 at the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center East Lansing, Michigan, the Michigan State University will host the Global Food Law Current Issues Conference. The Current Issues in Global Food Law conference explores the interconnectedness, relationships and impact of food law, food science, industry and consumers. Bringing together members of industry and the regulatory world as well as students, alumni, and faculty, the conference will increase attendees’ understanding of today's food law issues, tomorrow's opportunities, and the future challenges facing the global food industry.
Next 26 August to 2 September in Tours, France, the 16th Summer University dedicated to Food & Drink Studies will be held. The summer school will be an opportunity to discuss on the most recent issues in the food research: What are the major interests currently explored in anthropology, classics, gastronomy, history, literary studies, sociology and other disciplines? Which general trends have emerged over recent years? The deadline for submission is 18 May 2018.
Finally, a special issue of Beverages (ISSN 2306-5710) on "Beverages and Culture" (Dr. Miranda Mirosa Guest Editor) is now open for submissions. Consumer behavior and food/beverage choice; Consumer research methods; Cross cultural research on food/beverage preferences; Asian consumers' food/beverage preferences; The impact of food/beverage choice on consumers' health and wellness; Environmental and sustainability issues around food/beverage choice.
