The Italian Sensory Science Society Is Pleased To Present A 3-Day New Course In Sensory And Consumer Science. The course will be held in Florence from the 13th to 15th of June 2018 and will feature recent advances in cognitive psychology applied to sensory and consumer studies on food, beverage, cosmetic, personal care and home care products.
The participants will also get an overview of some of the most important methods and statistical tools that can be used for collecting and extracting useful information from sensory and consumer data. The course will give an updated basis for planning an experimental design, understanding your results more in depth for decisions in a commercial setting. Every year EFFoST organizes this prestigious international food science and technology conference, an important scientific event that brings together world-renowned researchers, scientists, policy makers, professionals and students from multidisciplinary food-related fields to share the latest developments.
The 32nd EFFoST International Conference with the theme “Developing innovative food structures and functionalities through process and reformulation to satisfy consumer needs and expectations”. The event will be held in Nantes, France from 6-8 November 2018 under the theme: Developing innovative food structures and functionalities through process and reformulation to satisfy consumer needs and expectations. There will be also a session on “THE FUTURE of FOODS: Education, Consumers science and emerging expectations, the factory of the future”.
On the 13th of April, the CIHF will be held a Mini-symposium titled "Patient Experience Rx: Healing the Whole Human” which will explore the highly relevant topic of patient experience in healthcare. Health policy and a general trend toward computerization have shifted the power from a more paternalistic dynamic to one in which the consumer is slowly taking center stage. Furthermore, hospitality, wellness, facilities and service design, food and nutrition, and other unique needs of patients are increasingly becoming important considerations in healthcare delivery during the era of rising costs and complexities surrounding health insurance and government regulations. The University of Milano opens a call for 1-year fellowship for collaboration to research activities in the scientific area of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences. Candidate should have expertise in areas of applied economics and/or rural development and/or policy impact analysis and/or agricultural and food economics and/or consumer analysis. Familiarity with multivariate analysis and choice experiment methods, as well as qualitative surveys (direct interviews, case study and focus groups) is expected. Finally, next Saturday, April 7th, 2018, 8:30am-5 pm at the Jaharis Family Center, Tufts Boston Campus, there will be held the 11th Annual Future of Food and Nutrition Graduate Student Research Conference. This event is a unique opportunity for graduate students across disciplines and from around the country to present original research relating to the food system and nutrition science. I will be there presenting a study on “consumers value and trust health and nutritional claims. A case study in the European fishery and aquaculture sector”.
